Pregnant Glairegg

Alrighty, you know I'm preggers...I have yet to have a pregnancy while following the no gluten, no dairy, no eggs rule. Any tips for getting enough protein besides gnawing on beef jerky all day. Dairy was my saving grace, now I don't have that. Also, anyone know if there is such a thing as a gluten free/soy free/dairy free protein powder?

  1. Can you eat nuts? Almonds and cashews are a great source of protein, peanuts too, but you are probably allergic to that too! As far as a protein powder, I don't know, but Sunflower might have something.

  2. Oh! Hemp too! It's full of protein and I saw a powder mix-thingy at Sunflower. You should check it out.

  3. I've been eating pistachios like they are going out of business, but I'm bored with that already. I did pick up a hemp powder at Trader Joe's. I'm going to attempt smoothies.

  4. Black beans and rice. Taco salad w/ beans, lettuce, avocado, etc. Sunflower seeds.

  5. Quinoa! Cook it with chicken broth instead of water.

  6. How are you getting by without eggs!?!? They were essential to my protein fulfillment.

  7. Check out the Book of Yum website. She's on a majorly restrictive diet right now and has been posting things like crazy.

  8. Thanks for all of the ideas. I wish I would've planned this pregnancy then I could have done a bunch of cooking ahead of time and froze a bunch of stuff. I just have no energy and grabby snacks for a glairegg are hard to come by, especially in high protein. And, I've caved on my egg ban. I just can't figure out breakfast without eggs.
